Royals RBI Overview

Royals RBI is a developmental softball league run in partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City and Kansas City Royals Foundation. Royals RBI is a member of the Kanas City Royals Sports Development’s Crown Leagues. Teams that participate in Royals RBI will compete against teams in Royals RBI and teams other Crown Leagues at their game sites in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Fall Ball Preview

Fall Royals RBI softball is focused on introducing the sport to new players and continuing to develop upon skills learned in summer RBI. Metropolitan Community College's softball team is confirmed to hold clinics on three of the practice dates in September (9/10, 9/17, 9/24) for all fall RBI softball teams. Games will be scheduled to give teams and players additional game experiences.

Practice

Practices primarily will be held at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy. Softball practices are slotted for Monday and Wednesday evenings. The target start date for practices is September 3, 2025

Games Sites

Games will be played at Cleveland Park, the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy, and other Crown Leagues sites in the Kansas City metropolitan area in the evenings on Mondays and Wednesday evenings. The target start date for games is October 1 for all softball age divisions.

Cost

The cost is $25 per player and includes a uniform.

Registration

We accept both free agent registrations, who will be placed on a free agent team, and full teams that must provide their own coach. Please contact Kary Kankey at kkankey@helpkckids.org if you are interested in bringing a full team into the league.

Volunteer Coaches

Our league is dependent upon volunteer coaches. All coaches must complete the Boys & Girls Clubs Volunteer Application Process, which can take up to three week, prior to coaching. Practice plans and some equipment can be provided for coaches. If you are interested in coaching a team as a head or assistant coach, please contact Kary Kankey at kkankey@helpkckids.org.
